F.S. Kongoni Secondary

Friends School Kongoni Secondary is located in Likuyani Sub-county, Kakamega County.  It is a day mixed school with a population of 258 girls and 380 boys.

How has Kongoni school benefited from Kongoni Network?

Thanks to Michael and Karen Schley Foundation for your support.  Through your generous giving, the school has a modern library furnished with modern shelves and reading tables.  The school is boasting of 20 new laptops, a state-of-the-art projector, and unlimited internet connectivity.   The book and Maths clubs are fully equipped with the required equipment.  The students have access to storybooks written both by local and foreign writers to improve their communication skills as well as improve the reading culture. The school’s closeness to Kongoni Community Library gives them an added advantage to access the most needed revision books that are available in the library.

The students also have access to tablets donated by https://tutor-web.info/news-1/back-to-kenya-education-in-a-suitcase ,  The tablets help the students to learn mathematics and this also comes with some material gains to top-performing students.  The students also participate in IC4 https://ic4.site/ thus exposing them to collaborative activities with their peers across the world via zoom meetings.  The school is also participating in Baseball courtesy of Angels At Bat https://www.angelsatbat.org/
